Tamra Barney considers herself to be the hottest housewife on “The Real Housewives of Orange County” reality show and we will continue to stroke her ego by allowing her to think that she is hot. Tamra does look hot, but she is no match for reality show newcomer Gretchen Rossi. Tamra is married to Simon Barney her husband of the past 13 years, a car dealer, who recently decided to quit his job and become a business entrepreneur. They have 3 children together, Sidney 9, Spencer 8 and toddler Sophia. Tamra also has Ryan who is 22 years old from a previous marriage. Tamra was a stay at home mom for nearly 18 years before she decided to enter the work force and become a real estate agent, which she has successfully done for the past 3 years.
Tamra Barney gives the impression of a spoiled child who has to have her way at all times, it is usually okay when she tries to be funny and cunning with another housewife, but gets very defensive when receiving it from someone else.Tamra seems to be uncomfortable with the new housewife Gretchen Rossi whom she tries to befriend, but is overcome with jealousy over Gretchen’s appearance and her being 10 years younger than she is.
Tamra also seems to dominate her sons behaviour with women due to her acting more like a girl pal than his mother. It is okay for Ryan to cozy up to Tamra’s girl friends, get drunk or try to get a glimpse of what is under their skirt and as Tamra bluntly stated that they both were very close and hung out together. Now Tamra is disappointed in Ryan whom she says doesn’t seem to do much of anything or is deciding what he is going to do with his life. What we have here is Ryan becoming the product of Tamra Barney refusing to grow up and act like a mature woman and mother around her son. Where did Tamra expect Ryan to get the discipline he needed to grow into a well balanced and motivated son, if he spent his time hanging out with his mom and her friends.
